The iSchool Summer Intensive

In Summer 2026, the School of Information Sciences is piloting a “Summer Intensive” program that gives students the chance to earn 2-4 graduate credits by taking 1-2 intensive, in-person, week-long classes during the early weeks of the summer. Each class meets all day—with appropriate breaks—over the course of one week. Only one Summer Intensive course can be taken at a time, but students can take two in back-to-back weeks.

In addition to classes, the Summer Intensive weeks will include a range of academic, professional, and social events in the evenings and on the adjoining weekends, aimed at fostering community and professional development for our students.

Summer Intensive courses are available to all qualifying iSchool students—including non-degree-seeking students—but are especially intended to offer an on-campus experience for students who typically take classes online, such as MSLIS students in our LEEP program. Find information about the academic calendar, including registration dates, on this calendar.

For information about course expectations, on-campus accommodation, registration for non-degree-seeking students, or travel suggestions, see the Summer Intensive FAQ.
